Just my opinion, but I'd hold on to that cash just in case it goes sub-$2 again. But I'm pretty conservative in holding off on my buys until it gets low. Other alternative - take that cash and dump into silver.

Looked at USLV and it looks really good...waiting on money to settle Friday....
Believe I am too impatient for the TGMBFS....I am going to be 80% in commodities and silver looks like my next buy... Your suggestion on UGAZ has made me lots of money. Other than the entry price, do you see any downsides to silver commodity?

Looked closer and found $1900 of settled funds, so took the plunge and bought 100s at 17.44 with a sell target of ??? Maybe 19.44 for $200 profit....or maybe greedy for $500...looks like it can move many $$$ in a month. I plan a next buy of 200s at 5% down(16.57)..??? What's your strategy on buys and sells with this 3x?

Yep, the TGMBFS requires some patience.  If I exclusively played 3x commodities, I'd probably easily be up 30-50% this year.  But obviously risks involved as well.

A couple other things to try at least for education purposes:

1. I'd like to try buying and selling a futures contract.  From my understanding, they are like 10x leverage, but even more risk of course.

2. I also have some paper trading options contracts in place, but for stocks, not commodities.  One thing I noticed is that the premium costs on the options contracts really eats into your potential profits. It seems that using shorter timeframes results in cheaper premiums. I think my problem is that I used November as the expiration date.

My current UGAZ plan.  Still have 3750 shares at 2.044 average.  With what I have right now, will sell 1000 shares at 2.55, sell 1250 shares at 2.80, and sell 1500 shares at 3.05, all with limit orders already set.

Will buy 1000 shares at 1.79 (why? because i won't buy unless at least $0.25 below my average), and then 1750 shares at 1.65.  If either of these execute, I will adjust the sell levels indicated above to sell 1000 shares at $0.25 above the new average as a start.   Say if the 1000 shares at 1.79 executes - my new average would be 1.991, so will sell 1000 shares at 2.25.  If both the 1.79 and 1.65 buys execute, my average would be 1.90, so I'd sell 1000 shares at 2.15.

I am in for 4000 at 2.42 ave....last buy of 1700 at 2.23.
I have a buy order in for 2000 at 2.01 and will buy 2500 again at 1.81 and 3000 at 1.62.....
I'll borrow money from you (all) to buy more, lower, after that ;-)

I think all this cycle gave me so far is $250 profit realized. I still have about $250 unrealized as well, but who knows if that sticks. Not complaining, but I want my $3 UGAZ! Oh well, maybe a blessing in disguise if it tanks some more and then I can load up before natural gas really takes off.

bought 500 shares at 2.31, short term Fed meeting small potatoes play.  Trying a new brokerage and figure I'd do some mini plays to use the free introductory commissions. Not really part of my trading plan - this is just a separate play.

I had a little $ laying around this am, so bought in PM 1150s UGAZ at 1.98. Brings me to 7150s @ 2.26 ave.
Boring day today, but expect movement (.10-.12) either way before EOD.

Bought another 1000 shares at 1.99 at open.  So now I have 4750 shares in one account at 2.03 average and 500 in another account (new tradeking account) at 2.31 average.  Total average is 5250 shares at 2.06. Will start selling around 2.28 and start with the 1000 shares I bought today (0.25 above the 2.03 average in that account) then 1000 at 2.53, then 1250 at 2.78, then 1500 at 3.03. Will sell the 500 shares in the other account at 2.55.

Bought another 900 shares at 2.01 as part of my $3,000 to $1,000,000 account experiment:

https://10gm.forumotion.com/t64-running-an-experiment-with-a-3000-account-on-tradeking

Current average in that account is now 1400 shares at 2.13. Set to sell at 2.34, but may take profits earlier in the 2.20's. Every extra $100 means a lot in these early stages of that account.

Sold 700 shares from 2.13 average at 2.19 in the $3K experiment account. $37 profit after commissions, but more importantly, didn't want all the eggs in one basket before report.

Hehe...bested you on this one.... 1150s sold at 2.21 from 1.98....have another 2000s on the block for 2.29. I think it could happen today or maybe tomorrow...but who knows.

Congrats! I'm hoping that UGAZ keeps going up a little more so that I could get the $3K to $1M in 8 years experiment account ahead of schedule by a month or so. Goal for first year is to average $166 profit per month - currently at +$180.20 (some realized gains, some not) in first 6 trading days, so far so good!

Had some $$$ to trade this morning...wanted both ugaz and uwti, but since uwti was 7% down on Greece and Puerto Rico....went there for my limited investment $$$.....damn....gotta build the portfolio so I do NOT have a limited investment opportunity..... ;-) is that possible?

Congrats! I sold my last buy of 500s up .23 for a $100 net gain. I had a sell order in for 2000s at 2.27....so when my mobile apps said it hit that # I elated, only to find out that there apparently wasn't enough volume at that price so I missed....and so I probably hold it once again for days....damn!

Ok, here is my official current strategy for UGAZ with the morning collapse.  Holding 2750 shares at 2.03 average (sold half last week in 2.20's from same average).  Will buy 1000 shares today below $2.  Will plan to buy another 2000 shares at $0.25 below my new average (should be around upper $1.70's). Will sell half again once profit hits 10% above new average.

Impressive dive on all commodities. My advice, buy like crazy, turn off computer, and come back in a week.

Not looking good for the middle class recently:

1.  Stock market down for the year.
2.  Commodities diving.
3.  Bonds/CD's/Savings account returns near zero.

Under the mattress, haha! (although not really funny)

That said, this is not the time to be selling. I did some rebalancing a few weeks ago in the 401K. Took 25% from S&P 500 index and took that and bought into a Bond index. Figure I saved about $10K in losses so far there at least. My non-401K accounts though getting hammered bad though.
